Interaction and sharing: these have become the web’s keywords.
A totally new way to conceive Internet where the center of the world is ‘you’. User? Surfer? Consumer? Not anymore, or at least, not only. Surfing the net is no longer limited to benefiting from “institutional” contents, chatting and checking your email; today internet denotes social network, blog, wiki, vod and podcasting. This allows anyone who can operate a mouse, to publish his/her contents, comment on someone else’s, be responsible for their circulation, start social relations based on common interests, exchange ideas, knowledge, audio and video files.
The Web has been headed in the last few years, in a very precise direction: web 2.0 is a road made by people, with people, for people who surf the net. And it is not a virtual world because it is fed by millions of contributions from different people who publish texts, audio and videos, spreading ideas and information. “You control the information age. Welcome to your world”, reads a Time magazine cover that conferred the title of “personality of the year” to a generic but precise “You”, written on a pc screen: dedicated to all those people who took part in the digital democracy explosion, contributing to the success of sites like Youtube, MySpace, Wikipedia.
Nielsen/Netrating calculated in 2006 that 56% of Italians (over 11 million) visited a website 2.0. These data have more than doubled today: 23 million of Internauts in Italy alone confirms the success of blogs and communities alike..
Qbr is riding the wave of success: In constant growth since 2004, it has reached 300.000 users and its staff is relentlessly working to offer its “tribe” the most involving and participating services. We are now planning the future: Qbr will soon become an international social network with a portal in five languages and enriched with new functions and graphic design.
