July 25th, 2007- Qbr community, www.qbr.it with its 270.000 registered users, 80.000 daily accesses and 2.200.000 web-pages visited every day, is the largest reality in the central-southern Italy and among the most important in the nation.

Based on visual chat, the activities of Qbr social network features 3800 simultaneous users online. The community staff awards such loyalty with a range of services and features to grant a great deal of entertainment and virtual interaction.

Each user can access “My home”, a space where it is possible to upload photos, videos, keep a list of friends, read received messages and monitor personal popularity based on the number of visits to each profile.

Qbr is also a rich virtual source of information reality thanks to Magazine online, with 14 theme channels, divided in sub-sections that range from news to latest trends, from gossip to high-tech issues

Qbr magazine is an open window to the world and society with special attention to topics of interest for the community target that ranges from 16 to 27 years old. It was conceived as an information media and entertainment means for Qbr users and in addition to carefully selected articles, includes spaces for comments, proposals and ideas, so as to offer its users ideas for readings and discussions.

One of the main priorities for the Qbr team is the special attention it dedicates to its users, the awareness that behind the number of registrations there are people who must be rewarded for joining and for the loyalty they show to the social network.

Based on these fundamental premises, the Qbr staff, has developed, after a long trial period, the REAL USER RANK algorithm.

Gianluca Cozzolino, CEO www.qbr.it has stated that : “The Real User Rank algorithm is a highly innovative idea in community management. We are, in fact, the first to have conceived it. Like the Google algorithm, which allows the search engine to define results by topic, the Real User Rank determines, the user reality index is based on the effective participation in community activities.

For the first time in a social network, it is an algorithm to determine whether a user is real or fake. How is it possible to obtain such a result? “Starting from a sample of 10.000 users, we analyzed the activities of fake users comparing them to the ones of well-known real users. After an exhaustive analysis we managed- Gianluca Cozzolino continues- to identify the behaviors of fake users through a survey of their activities in the Chat room”.

Real User Rank assigns a value to each user (from 0 to 10 visible in each user’s profile) that can be more or less visible according to his/her actual participation in community activities, and not to his/her registration seniority.

It is also possible to ensure that the RUR algorithm (Real User Rank) assigns, in a short time interval, a high value to a recently registered user with a highly active participation in community activities, , taking him to the top of the online users chart.

Thanks to Real User Rank algorithm we can satisfy one of the primary needs of the community’s, in dealing with real users. With the application of the algorithm the reward for users is twofold: in terms of visibility as well as in terms of security, offering a safe environment to interact, have fun and be informed”, remarks Luca Morieri, Web Publishing Director www.qbr.it.

With Real User Rank, the portal staff has undertaken the project of propagating an international Chat platform, presenting themselves as one of the most progressive realities in the world of social networks.
