Ciaopeople, finally we introduce ourselves

One month after launching Ciaoblog, the corporate blog of Ciaopeople, we have thought it right to do the due introducing. Informal introductions are more suitable for this new and powerful mean of corporate communication and we want to use them to symbolically shake hands with our customers, with the big internet world and even with our competitors.

We think it right to start by introducing the name of our company, Ciaopeople, which is not the result of a mere fortuitousness or of a flash of inspiration but it has been conceived after a close analysis of what we wanted to communicate and to represent to our customers.

Actually we could choose among thousand of names or we could be inspired from the more bizarre names of the most popular social networks such as YouTube, MySpace and so on…
But how could we express our personality, our distinguishing mark?

Ciaopeople seemed to us the better choice, because with these two simple words well known around the world, we want to say hello to the internet people from expert surfers to beginners.
But we want to do it in a very direct way as if we were talking to our friends or  relatives.

Our message is clear: “We are here, we invite you to discover our community and what we can offer you is a virtual place where you can meet a lot of interesting people and where you can share your experience with us”.

We have talked about a distinguishing mark, well, what did it mean?
First of all, we refer to the people, the so called “human resources”, from the Ceo, to the publishing manager, to the solution architect, to the communication manager, to the press office and to the web writer. Behind these labels there’s a team that works to create a project in which it firmly believes with the purpose to wink at our 400 thousand customers who are already part of our community, Qbr, and at all other potential customers who are out there and that maybe are just looking for what we can offer them.

How can we achieve this purpose? Using our skills and trying to understand our customers’ needs in order to offer them what they want.

And so we come to the point: what does Ciaopeople offer?

It’s better to be direct and not to waste our time chatting: sharing and participation, these are our goals.

Two words sometimes overworked in the web 2.0 but for us they have a precise and concrete meaning.

To create a community is not a simple thing and it is not sufficient to provide customers with a web platform and then to tell them: “Please, chat, interact, this place is for you!”

It means to create initiatives to entertain them and to boost their exchanges and socializing, in other words we build projects that we study accurately for them, for our customers.

It also means to inform them about what happens in the world with our magazine which is updated every day with news from all over the world and in particular from Italy. And our customers can interact with it by commenting on every article.

We try to expand our concept of community to the infinite world of internet, where feedback, (what the other people think of us and of our work), is fundamental. We know that we have to say thanks to our customers and to what they think of us for the growth of our company.

To create a social network is an ambitious project and it requires hard work and sacrifice, but trying to create an international one like Ciaopeople, is even more difficult. However we love challanges and with a bit of madness we tell you we are sure to succeed.
